Great picture love how fluffy you make some of the horses look. Those foals are so darn adorable!
Also that is a cool concept to have a rider missing an arm.

Medhurst Stable Gypsies 8-4-2018
Brishen's First Show!Brishen was recently entered in his first halter show, and I decided to share it here! ~
~ Brishen was impatient as he saw other horses going out to trot, it was his first ever halter show, and he wasn't quite sure how to act. The stallion was still young, and wasn't used to the environment. He watched as other stallions went out, occasionally throwing fits. Brishen wasn't used to seeing the other stallions, especially fresh and jumpy ones. He was mesmerized as he saw some of the stallion snorting at each other, having no clue on how to react to them. The only stallion Brishen really knew was his sire, and his sire was always an absolute sweetheart, and never acted up. Brishen looked over at me with wide eyes as if he was saying "Did you see that?" He was so confused. I just hoped he didn't get any ideas. When it was Brishen's turn to go into the ring, he acted calm and collected, as if he was a veteran halter horse. He moved beautifully, showing off his long black and white mane, never trying to show a fit. He kept his neck rounded, and his gaits extended and smooth, looking like a fancy dressage horse. Needless to say, Brishen got a surplus of treats afterwards, whether he placed or not ~
Django, the Lesson Stallion My daughter, Julie, had a lesson on our beloved stallion, Django. He's 18 years old, and has always been an amazingly sweet stallion. He was born when I was 13-14 ish years old, and he's always been super gentle and great with kids. Usually Julie is nervous on new horses, but she didn't seem nervous at all to ride DJ. The caught my by surprise, since I was expecting her to be scared, since she's never ridden a stallion- but I guess she's seen her four year old cousin ride the Life Saver loving stallion.
~ "Okay, just sit back, and squeeze your legs, and he'll pick up the canter," I told Julie, leaning against the jump standard. Julie tried sitting while Django trotting, bouncing on his back, but he didn't mind. She gave the stallion a squeeze and he picked up the left-lead canter with a small head toss. The canter was very slow and steady, almost as if Django could sense that his rider was young and inexperienced. Julie still bounced on his back, not having established a very good seat yet, but once again, DJ couldn't care less. "You got it! Just keep him cantering!" I said smiling as Django completely ignored the foals in the pasture adjacent to the grassy, and muddy, arena. She gave him small kicks, like little kids usually do, and he just kept going as is, making sure to slow if it ever felt like Julie was loosing her balance. Julie remained very focussed on what she was doing, she still didn't quite have the confidence to just sit and enjoy the canter, nonetheless she willingly cantered him. She cantered around two laps on the left lead with Django, before I told her to ease him back down to the walk. "Alright, just sit deep, and pull the reins back, and make sure to keep your back straight, he's got a bouncy downward transition," I instructed. "Woahh" Julie said as she pulled back the reins, and Django instantly broke into the walk. Julie bounced onto his back again, only making him flick his tail. She smiled and gave Django a pat on the neck, letting him take a walk lap. "I like him!" Julie said happily. "Can I canter him again?" she asked, of course, I let her canter the right lead after Django took his walk break. (he's an old man after all) After the ride, Julie made sure to give Django a couple mints so he knew he was a good boy. ~
Thanks for reading! Cheers!
