Skip "story" section if you'd like to avoid sensitive subjects. ) Jericho Sharpe He/him - 26 y.o. - 5'5 - Pisces - American - INTJ Rider & Trainer ( pictured below with ΣE Silversprings ) BIO My name is Jericho Sharpe, I’m a 26 year old trans man and I’ve been passionate about horses since I was very young. I have a love for Arabian horses and want to produce high quality Arabian sport horses. My heart horse is a beautiful Chincoteague pony mare, Silversprings. I don’t have any big dreams to be some big name grand prix rider but certainly wouldn’t be upset if I ended up there. I enjoy the behind the scenes simpler life of the horse world, training and producing young horses and teaching other riders from the comfort of my home without the hassle of traveling too far. I don’t consider myself the most talented horse person out there, but I’m just happy to be here… and hoarding Arabian mares. STORY (1/3) I began riding at age six, I started with show hunters which eventually evolved into Arabian English pleasure where my love for Arabian horses came from. I was having a pretty smooth ride being a horse girl growing up. I wasn’t born into a big horse family, but got lots of horse time. When I hit my teens I came out as a trans man and my family did not take kindly to it. I was shoved back into the closet for a good while and cut off from riding until I was about 17 years old and decided I was sick of the mistreatment and became demanding about my identity. I was disowned. But, I found ways to make ends meet and starting riding horses again. I was struggling, but I was happy to be out as a man and perusing my dreams. I found myself a decent paying job with horses and couch hopped a bit but I had money and food in my stomach. At 18 I took a trip to Chincoteague with extra cash in my pocket and determination. That's when I got my Silversprings. My first pony. Would I ever recommend someone getting a feral foal for their first horse? God no. But I was 18 and high on independence, and it paid off. Training Silversprings has been incredibly rewarding and encouraging to keep on going. Virginia Sharpe She/her - 7 y.o. - TBD - Virgo - American - ESFP Rider ( pictured below with ΣE Pompeii ) BIO Virginia is my darling little chaos bringer and is absolutely tough as nails, physically and mentally. She has her own pony, Jimmy, ( ΣE Margaritaville ) and she does show hunters! She one day wants to be an eventer, and frankly wants to do anything fast and dangerous she can on a horse. If anyone needs a kiddo who can get on a crazy green pony and stay on- Vee is your girl. You’ll often find her getting her clothes absolutely covered in dirt and mud or catching bugs to hold in a closed fist to chase her dad with. (Ugh.) I don’t know what crack was put into this child when she was in the mixing pot but it made her something. and boy am I grateful to have her. STORY (2/3) Vee had a rough start. I was in pretty abusive relationship with Vee’s father and he was not a nice person. I managed to get out of that relationship shortly before she was born. I was very alone and lost and a new single dad with a yearling and a newborn. I felt pretty hopeless. It was very difficult to get us back in a good place. Luckily Vee was too young to remember the rough first year of existence she had. When Vee was about a year old, I began looking to relocate Silversprings somewhere more affordable and came across Swallowtail Equestrian, which at the time had just opened and was looking for boarders. I was pretty defeated, board prices where I am are not cheap, but I had found exactly what I was looking for. A right place right time sort of situation… Florian Kemper He/Him - 31 - 5'7 - Pisces - German - ISTP Barn Manager, Rider, & Trainer ( pictured below ΣE Fayette ) BIO Florian, aka Flo, is my wonderful fiancé and is my light in the dark. Flo’s mother, Greta -who is a very successful business and horse woman- owns Swallowtail Equestrian but now leaves it to Flo to run and manage. Flo is an accomplished horseman and comes from an equestrian family and pretty much has had his life set up for him, but he has always stayed incredibly kind and humble. He was born in Germany and is a big dressage puritan but also does upper level eventing and show jumping. He strives to eventually make it to the Olympics with a homebred horse. He’s a bit awkward and socializes better with animals than he does any humans. STORY (3/3) I met Greta Kemper as a depressed and lost 20 year old doing unsavory things to make ends meet. At the time Greta was still very involved and managing Swallowtail Equestrian while her son, Florian, was overseas riding fancy horses. She heard my story and was touched and invited me to stay with her- she had extra space after all with her son overseas. Thus I began a pretty relaxed “intern” position while I took time to get back on my feet. Turns out Greta loved babies and helped out tremendously with baby Virginia. A few months into living at Swallowtail with my human daughter and horse daughter- I met Florian. Someone didn’t inform him that she had let someone stay in his room while he was gone. Lets just say walking in on someone while they’re changing is a bold icebreaker. It was pretty awkward at first for both of us for a while, but Florian adored Virginia. Turns out both him and his mother had quite the soft spot for babies. Eventually we began to get to know each other, the awkwardness turned into fondness, and fondness turned into attraction and we couldn’t deny we had a thing for each other. We certainly didn’t do a good job at hiding it either. The Kemper family is apparently really bad at knocking before entering. Our relationship started like something out of a corny sitcom. But I found myself falling head-over-heels for this dumb blond, though reluctant due to prior trauma, he made feel safe and loved. At peace. The terrors of the last man I was with didn’t matter with him and everything felt right. When Greta handed over the responsibility of Swallowtail Equestrian to Flo I was right there with him, excited to take on this new chapter of our lives. I don’t think we ever officially considered each other boyfriends before he got down on one knee and popped the question on a vacation out to Chincoteague.
