Karelia Halter Show: Five ribbons and one new sweetheart
Tilde Jessen & Vigilantti
Saga was supposed to show Vigi, but as she was rushed to Waldemar hospital after her accident in the show jumping course, Tilde came to our rescue. Again. We're so lucky to have a trainee like her! Unfortunately her teachers didn't allow her to stay away from school for april and may, working for us, so we will have to manage without both her and Saga until June. In theory, that is. In reality both of them still hang around the barns every day, Saga in her wheel chair, and Tilde arrives after every school day, still working like crazy to help us out. I feel like their mama, pushing them away from the barns, Saga to rest, and Tilde to make her schoolwork. The halter show itself was the biggest we ever have been to, with own classes for draft horses like ours, ones for warmbloods and ones for ponies (in which we showed our iceys in). Many of the shown horses left us gasping for breath for their beauty, especially the Finnhorses, naturally! We were absolutely astonished when we heard the results - all of us placed 
 Would you please try to settle down, I'm trying to take a photo here!
The best thing? Not the ribbons, not the spring, not Tilde being awesome, but a new Finnhorse! We had already bought Nuivan Jalopeno, a young stallion with a fancy dressage pedigree from the show host Rosanna Lind , thank you thank you thank you! and finally got to meet him in Vredesholm and take him home the same visit 
 From left: Snotri frá Teitur, Nuivan Jalopeno, Skjóni frá Teitur, Teiturin LumousWe have divided one of our stallion paddocks into two parts, to let Jalo safely meet his planned herd in his own time. So far so good: iceys are being overly social iceys while Lumous is a bit more cautious. There's clearly some tension between those two, but not necessarily a negative one. |

These icelandics are so gosh dang adorable--I really liked seeing your entries in the halter show, too! I hope Jalo gets a chance to settle in well without too much fuss from Lumous.
