Autumn mornings in Australia aren't my idea of fun, the fog, the dampness and well I don't want to mention the brisk wind that comes up from the ocean but its the first show season for us at Illawarra and that means we need to get our butts into gear and train some horses. Our horses have been on break for the past few months and honestly I am sure they are just as thrilled as we are. -insert sarcasm-

"who are you riding this morning?" Amanda hurried across the stable with her makeshift tack carrier. It was an old wheelbarrow she had somehow bolted a saddle rack too, sometimes Australians think they are engineers, not in this case! It was sure to spook every horse who poked their head out the doors or those unexpecting grooms as it rolled passed them.

"no one, you are, and do you have use that thing? It scares every horse, every morning" I honestly think Gina was going to burn it in the next fire we had, it was a unbelievable loud.

"and who would I be riding? I'll ignore your comment about trusty miss wheelbarrow"

"Bellhavan needs to be worked, she has a show soon and she is just gaining more weight than she really needs, so go and get her out and how about a jump saddle? I don't think she has seen a jump since her 2 year old days"

Bellhavan was purchased as a 2 year old with limited handling but so much potential as a keen jumper, but since our hiatus with the showing season she has been left to mature and now as a rising 7 year old its time to get her out and about.

Amanda tacked up Belle and headed into the arena, a quick warm up while Gina set up some small training jumps.

"pop her up into a canter, she is not engaging her hinds enough, we will need to work on that and also your posture sucks right now so lets focus on that too" Gina laughed, the girls were always throwing insults, it made for a fun atmosphere.

"you try riding this lazy elephant and see how your posture looks!"
