Somewhere in Montana there is a familiar ranch surrounded by breathtaking nature. In the middle of the valley is a small lake, the Rocket Lake. Around this small lake the Sterling's had build a beautiful ranch. In the beginning the ranch was only a cattle ranch with giving a home to great long horn cows. Everywhere you looked there was cattle. Only a few horses lived there to work with the cows. The ranch became very famous for their cattle and earned many prices. The youngest daughter of the Sterlings, Josephine, had not that much interest in cattle but horses. She grew up at this beautiful ranch, but she was always looking for a ride. But cattle was never the thing she really wanted. She wanted to ride, to compete and breed very good horses. Her parents called her crazy but she grabbed all her self-earned money to buy an old stallion which was a reining star in his young ages. This was the founder stallion of her own homebred horses. She started competing with her first foal after that stallion and she won the first price with it in Working Cow Horse and Reining. When her parents died her other siblings moved to town and she was left alone with all that cattle and her horses. She met her husband Hugh at a show, they have fallen in love and married after two years. Josie sold all the cattle and with that money she build up a wonderful ranch. They got two children, Elizabeth and Wichard, and both are very interested in horses. Wichard is an ambitious rider and trainer, he loves to work with the horses all day. Betty had a phase where she didn't wanted to be around horses. She moved to the city, got pregnant from a guy she didn't know well and now she is back at the ranch with her little Amy. Betty works now with the horses too, while Amy is at school. Wichard is the main person at the ranch, handling all horses, managing everything, but the last word still has Josie.

Let's start with some impressions of our horses! This is RVR Smart Incursion! He was a horse for sale, but he is a very stong-minded and powerful stallion. He is nothing for unexperienced rider, so we knew he is hard to sell. But he is very intelligent, fast and agile. That makes him perfect for Reining and Barrel-racing. When he gets bored he starts bolting and bucking around. He is also a bit difficult in everyday handling, if you don't watch him carefully he sometimes bites in your direction. First we thought he has some pain the the back, because he started to buck around out of nowhere, but the vet checked him and he is completely healthy. It's only his mind that makes him that difficult. I wanted to train him and make him fit for a sale, but Sammy is a one-man-horse, and I kept him myself. I think he likes me, because his behaviour gets better every day I train with him. This handsome red stallion is called RVR Turn My Lamp On. His sire is a beautiful red stallion from a good friend, I was so happy when she said Yes to a covering! My red boy is after my personal mare RVR Scarlet Rose and he is as big and talented as his parents. I started him recently under the saddle and he is doing great! One of my all time favourite pictures! This was the first picure of RK Heza Smooth Hustler! He is just a gorgeaus stallion with an incredible color and mind! We don't own him for a long time, so I can't say very much about him. But he is very calm and gentle and never showed any bad behaviour since he is standing at our ranch. And we have this shy guy over here! This picture was take shortly before we bought him. He was standing in Denmark. He is still young and a bit fearful. It takes a bit more time to catch him in the field, but everyday it's getting better and better! We think he would be a fast Barrel-Racer or a Reiner. It's incredible how fast this boy can run around!

The cold and misty days are gone, the hottest days of the year are almost there. Summer is coming in big steps! So here is a picture to cool your minds!
My mare Cat (RVR Cats Don't Dance)!
What is your favorite season of the year? Mine is spring and summer! But only when it's not too hot
