About Us Meadow Oak Stables is located Ontario, Canada on a 300-acer property. The stable started in 2005, Meadow Oak stables is run by Bree Nolan and her husband Christopher Nolan. Our stables houses 5 beautiful Gelderland horses, the breed has been the focus of the stable since the beginning, we are passionate about improving and showing our horses. What we offer We offer different activities here at Meadow Oak stables: • Trail rides for kids, teens and adults (by appointment only, of groups of 4) • Riding lessons for kids, teens and adults (by appointment only) • Horse therapy sessions (by appointment only) • Training for jumping competitions/cross country/dressage (by appointment only) FAQ: Q: Where are you located? A: Ontario, Canada for further details, please see below. Q: Which breed of horses does Meadow Oak Stables have? A: We only have Gelderland horses Q: Do you board horses? A: We do not board, as our barn does not have the space currently to have extra horses, hopefully we will eventually expand and be able to board, but as of now we do not board horses Q: Do you lease horses? A: We do not lease horses, sorry! Q: How many horses currently live at Meadow Oak Stables? A: This number can fluctuate depending if/a foal(s) are born or if horses are sold, currently as of 22/05/18 we have 5 horses, 2 stallions and 3 mares. Q: Do you breed horses? A: We do occasionally do have a foal born here at Meadow Oak stables Q: Do you sell horses? A: On occasion, but it’s rare, as we usually keep the foals we breed. Normally when we sell, it’s foals we have bred, raised and trained ourselves, these foals come from show quality parents with good blood lines, and we can be picky as to who they are sold to, not only this, but the individuals we sell to are also in the world of competing and showing. If you are in the process of looking for a horse to buy, we will be happy to help find a suitable seller. Q: Do you show? If yes, what type of showing do you do? A: Yes, we do show, our horses compete mainly in jumping and cross-country competitions/shows and dressage. Q: When are you open? Stallions: • Clyde: Stallion, Age: 11 years, Color: Dark bay coat, black mane and tail, black front socks, white/black back socks. Training: Jumping, hobby riding, trail, therapy horse, Clyde was our first stallion at Meadow Oak Stables, he is fairly laid back which makes him a great horse for people to learn to ride. His mother and father were both show-winning dressage horses. • Black’Magic: Stallion, Age: 8 years, Color: Black coat, black mane and tail, white socks on all four legs, white blaze down front of his face. Training: Jumping. Black’Magic is a special horse here at Meadow Oak stables, his name is inspired by a former horse, a gelding who has since passed away, Black’Beauty, whom was named after the well-known movie starring a black horse with that exact name. Black’Magic, or Magic for short has been trained for showing, he’s young and easily trainable, we have high hopes for his future in the show ring. Mares: • Grace: Mare, Age 13 years old, Color: Light bay coat, black mane and tail, white socks on all four legs and a white blaze on her face. Training: Therapy horse, trail riding, jumping. Grace is typically the horse we use for people coming for lessons or therapy, she’s very calm and what we call a “bomb proof” horse. Grace has spent some time in the show ring, she has 2 blue ribbons from different events. Grace Is patient and gentle, her parents were used for barrel racing, she was born in Texas and sold at 5 years old, which is when she came to Meadow Oak stables. • Spicy: Mare, Age 7 years old, Color: Chestnut coat, mane and tail with a white star on her forehead. Training: Jumping,dressage. Of all our horses, Spicy can be the one that’s most difficult to work with, she’s high strung and independent, but smart and learns quickly. Our vet once joked her name suited her, as her personality is “hyper and strong willed”. Spicy has yet to show, but we are hoping to get her fit for that soon, she can be sweet and gentle at times, but she can also be difficult and wild, for this reason, Spicy is worked with only by Bree and Christopher, and is not a part of the lessons or therapy sessions. • Addie: Mare, Age 5 years old, Color: Tobiano with a black mane and tail. Training: Jumping. Addie is our newest member to join Meadow Oak stables, she’s a sweet girl with an even temperament. Addie is young and full of energy, she’s easy to train and gets along with new people and horses very well. Addie was bought from another breeder who specializes in showing this breed, her parents are both jumpers and have won ribbons, we are hoping that Addie will follow in their hoofprints and win titles as well. Foals: • None currently!
