Hidden in the deep mountains of Oregon, in the United States, there lives the modern Viking. Helm Lock Stables is new, but ready to improve and conquer the lands in all we do. While our horses are trained here and there in a variety of areas, but they hold a special talent; they're also trained for equine activities for the Society for Creative Anachronism, or the SCA. Archery, jousting, challenges, combat and the deep bonds of horse and rider on display for all to see, we hold true to being unique and being unrelenting on our quest for excellence. We may look like nothing gorgeous or huge, but that's how perfection is attained in the words of the elders; quality over quantity. Holding no true bond to any one breed, we show and train horses of a variety of backgrounds and bloodlines, knowing that in the home of a Viking, we use whatever we pillage.
Welcome to Helm Lock Stables.
"God save the fool,
That tries to break the Helm,
Because the Wolf will show no mercy
And guide the fool to Hell."

Situated on 24 acres, Helm Lock Stables is nestled quietly in the deep wilderness of Oregon. Closely located to the gorgeous Willamette National Forest, the sights are a beauty to behold. This farm wasn't the work in progress that you see today, however. When Ulfridur first purchased the property for just a little over $100,000 a few years ago, it was only a little more than a house and a barn with rotting interior and exteriors. It took a year to remodel the house, the two stalled maternity barn, and begin the process for restoring the main barn. Currently, there is only rough wooden fence doors for the stall fronts, and a dirt floor, but it'll be improved, one thing at a time.
Currently, out of the 24 acres, only 8 acres is still wooded, but the entirety of the estate has a main house, maternity barn, main barn, training barn, a rental apartment, several outdoor arenas, round pens, trailer parking, a mounted archery track, an indoor jousting track, wooded pastures, trails and much more. There will be more added as we gain funds through showing and selling horses, to improve. We will be adding an indoor arena, outdoor equine aqua therapy area in the future if all goes well.
