Briar Park Stables is a thoroughbred training and breeding facility founded in beautiful Upstate New York in the fall of 2012. Its facilities were built on the sprawling 917-acre Briar Park Estate a full 151 years after the property's establishment in 1861, and since that time, it has become home to many rising stars. Briar Park's on-site veterinary facilities have grown into one of New York State's most esteemed equine surgical hospitals and rehabilitation centers after being opened to the public in 2014, and every June the Briar Park Equine Veterinary Hospital hosts large-scale fire evacuation training for stable owners in Saratoga Springs and Del Mar, CA.

Briar Park's facilities are divided into four separate barns: the 20-stall training barn, which is the crown jewel of the property, the spacious 10-stall stallion barn, the 16-stall broodmare barn, and one training barn at the Saratoga backstretch privately owned by Claire Duvall. In addition to these central facilities, Briar Park boasts a full-length dirt track with a turf interior, an indoor swimming facility, a covered track, multiple treadmills, >600 acres of rolling pasture, three riding trails leased at the northern border of the estate, a full breeding shed, a limited number of employee apartments, and nearby veterinary facilities. All buildings are heated/air-conditioned and properly outfitted with top-of-the-line fire prevention equipment.

At Briar Park, we abide by the United States Jockey Club's registry rules. This means our horses are identified by (inner) upper lip tattoos and named by JC conventions, a summary of which can be viewed here. All foals bred by BPS must be named according to these guidelines. No AI is offered.
