CHAPTER 0 everything that happend until now
---July 2021---
A warm summer surounds germany. Joane finished her studies and settled down with her boyfriend Sam on his parents stud. They met in university, both being in the same cours and becoming friends quickly. It didn't take long for them to develope feelings for eachother and getiing into a relationship, the love for horses conecting them. Soon after they gratuated, Sams parents died in a tragic car crash, leaving the stud behind for them. The world came crashing down for them. Both freshly gratuated and with no expirience leading a big facility of their own and still some studentloans to pay. To say the first year was rough is an understatement, it was a real rolercoster ride, from trying to find employes, those quiting after a few months due to bad pay since there was few money Sam and Joane had, to a big dept pile they had no idea if they could ever pay that.
After some months Jo's best friend Lauren came from Ireland to help them out. With her on their side they managed to get more things done, including founding "Silver Star Stable". With the now new Stable and a new reputation build, more and more people got interested. They got multiple offers on offsprings and made a lot of money quickly and where actualy able to pay of the deps and student loans within 1 year, establishing a well known estate for breeding sports horses. The crew grew bigger and bigger with talented riders from all over germany. They scored first place in almost every show they attended.
For the next 2 Years everything went smoothly and they all where happy, the horses got better and better with each new offspring springing around in the fields. With each new crewmember there succes rate went higher and higher. Everything seemed fine. Everyone was happy, excapt one. One person couldn't handle all the succes. One person couldn't handle all of the things that where happening around them. This one person was Joane. Yes she was happy with everything they acomplished but was it realy worth it? She felt constricted in this place, she wanted to be "free" again. Telling this Sam was the hardest thing she ever had to do.
Sam's reaction was a suprise to Joane. She thought he would yell at her. She thought he would hate her, he had all the reason for it to do. She thought he would throw her out and leave her. But he didn't. He didn't yell. He didn't hate. He didn't throw her out. Sam listened to her. he listened to everything she had to say. Yes he was disapointed, but he loved her. Joane was relieved that he took it in like this. They started to make a plan where to go and what to do with the stud. After a long time planning they settled on the plan to go to Ireland, Joanes homeland. The months long search for a new facility started. They didn't find anything that suted their needs for a while. By chance they found an old mideavel town in the middle of Ireland with the name "Rivia". In this town there where multiple old buldings for sale. Joane instantly fell in love with it and wanted to live there. Whatever was necessary to renovate those buildings to suit their needs, she wanted to do it.
Nowing Joane for a while now, Sam knew better than to stop her. He knew that if she set her mind to do this she will do it no matter what.

CHAPTER 1
the magazine article
---January 2024---
Big news came in for Joane. The german horsemagazine St.Georg wanted to interview her for the next magazine. She was overjoyed, never would she have imagined to be interviewed by a grand magazine. She was even more delighted when she read that they wanted to interview her about her soulhorse Pandora. This horse meant the world to her, it was her pride and joy, her anchor, her everything. This was such an honor. Proudly, she dropped the news to her parents and, of course, to Sam and Lauren. Everyone was as overjoyd as she herself was. They bombarded her with greetings and hugs, well only Lauren gave her the biggest hug history has ever known. Everyone seemed proud of her and happy, well all but one.
This one person was Sam. He was, well, jealous. So jealous of her he didn't even want to read the article. Sam of course didn't tell Jo this. Why? Well since the arrivel in Ireland and all the chaotic renovating he slowly lost interest in Joane. Blinded by the joy of the upcoming interview she didn't notice any of it.
It was now the 13th of january, the day of the interview. She flew to germany to give the interview in person, to make it a better expirience for her and to give herself a break from all the things at home. Ariving in germany she got to her hotel and called Sam to tell him that she arrived savely. The call went by normal no weird behaviour and after that she went to bed and get a good nights rest before the interview the next day. Waking up she was realy excited and got up immediately. Looking at herself in the mirror she had the biggest smile she ever had. She got ready and left the hotel to go to the office she was going to give the interview at.
Arriving there she was greated very warmly and was introdused to the team working there. "Hey, I'm Marie. I'll be making the interview with you today! How was your flight and the stay until now?" asked a midaged brown haired woman sitting in front of her. "It's nice to meet you! My flight was as smooth as it could have been and the hotel was very nice. I slept realy good! I am so excited for this interview I could have never imagined this to happen!" Joane realy was flattered by this chance and so incretibly excited and also nervis. She never did this.
"Oh please everyone would love to have an interview with you! You are the talk in germany at the moment! Your whole journey to where you are now is incredble! And what you're building up in Ireland right now!" Marie explained to her. Just hearing that was so unbelievable for Joane. This seemed like nothing to her, just another Rider building up her dream.
"Wow I never notised all of that. Since I moved to Ireland I wasn't following up with news and all here in Germany. To hear this is so incredible and I just can't believe it." Joane was as red as a tomato. She was so flattered.
"No need to get so red. Okay! Enough chitchat! Let us begin with the interview. If you would like to follow me?" Joane nodded and stood up following Marie to the officeroom. Nervously sipping her tea while following her she tried to calm herself down.
Stopping at a door, Marie opened it and looked at Joane, letting her go inside first. "Here we are please come inside and take a seat."
"Okay Joane. Are you ready to start?" Marie asked her with a bright, warm smile."Yes"
Marie: Let's dive right in: You are an experienced competitive rider and horse trainer. How did you first get into the world of equestrian sports?
Joane: My love for equestrian sports began in my home country, Ireland. Even as a young girl, I had a special connection to horses. Over time, that interest turned into a passion, and thus began my journey in equestrian sports.
Marie: You lived and worked in Germany for a while. What experiences did you gain there, and how did they influence your approach to horse training?
Joane: Germany has a rich equestrian tradition, and the time I spent there was truly formative. The German thoroughness and precision greatly influenced my approach to horse training. It's not just about the horse obeying; it's also about building a harmonious partnership.
Marie: You work extensively with young horses. What tips do you have for riders who want to train a young horse?
Joane: That's a good question. Patience is key when training young horses. You should respect their physical and mental development. Fundamental groundwork and building trust are crucial. Consistency in training and considering the individual personality of each horse are also important. My first ever offspring made me go through a lot of learning. I am speaking of my soul horse Pandora. She has such a unique personality. I had to learn to have a LOT of patience and a very fine hand. She was very stuborn to begin with but with time, she got more trust in me and for herself and became the most wonderfull mare I ever had.
Marie: That's a lovely story! We love to see Pandora and she surely is a fan-favorite! When it comes to preparing a young horse for competitions, what aspects are particularly important?
Joane: Competition preparation doesn't start just before the event. A solid foundation is key. It's important to expose the young horse to different environments and situations to build confidence. Rituals before the competition, such as regular hacks and small "practice competitions" on the yard, can also help.
Marie: You're back in Ireland now. Does the Irish equestrian culture influence your approach to horse training?
Joane: Absolutely. The Irish equestrian culture is heavily focused on the bond between human and horse. It's not just about performance; it's also about the horse's well-being. This perspective has deepened my work and reminded me that a happy horse is a successful horse.
(picture of Pandora and Joane that made it on the cover!)
"Allright, that was everything thank you!" Marie said after they finished with the last question. "Thank you so much for having me here! I am so honered! This was a great expirience for me." "You are very welcome! Now you surely want to get back home right? Let me bring you back to the lobby" Joane followed Marie back to the lobby, saying goodbye to all the people they passed. Getting to the lobby Joane said goodbye to Marie and got on her way back to the hotel. On her way she passed by a bakerie and got herself a small snack. As she walked trough the streets she replayed the whole interview in her mind again. She was so incredibly proud of this interview.
Arriving at the hotel she sat down and immediately called Sam to tell him about the interview. After dialing the number it took a few seconds for him to pick up. "Hey honey what's up?!" Sam answered hurriedly and a bit overwhelmed. "Hey I wanted to tell you about the interview! Is now a good time? You sounded hurried is everyhing allright?" she asked worried.
"Eeermm... No, no! Everythings alright I was just, well coming back from the stables." He sounded very unsure and stressed as if he wanted to hide something but Joane didn't think any of anything of it. "Allright..", she said with a questioning tone. "Well it was wonderfull! I felt so velued and honered. Everyone was so nice to me and where looking out for me. They asked me about my training with young horses and my whoe expirience here in Germany. The interview realy was nice but I was so nervous. But in the end all the nervousnes went away." There was a short silence between them, no one saying anything and Jo just waiting for a reply from Sam. After a qouple seconds Sam replied. "I am proud of y-" "Samy?" a mystirious voice interupted his sentence. "Sorry, I have to go now bye, love you-"
Joane confusely looked at her phone screen. "Only I call him Samy... Who was that?"
