Is there a limit on how many skills or traits a horse can have?
Where horses are limited to a max of 5 Personality Traits (for the program, not as per your story or roleplay), you can develop as many skills in a horse as you see fit. However, the amount of skills or traits a foal can have at birth varies depending on your Breeder Rank.
Can I change my chosen breed?
The program requires you to make templates of your chosen breed, and to hone their conformation, skills, and personality traits to make them ideal for sale and for show. Changing your breed would require you to start over, so please have a clear idea of your breed prior to enrolling in the ESBP.
When can I start breeding foals?
Breeding may begin at Level 2! You’re encouraged to continue breeding throughout the program in order to refine your breed and produce Grade-A performers. If you’re selling offspring, ensure they’re going to homes that will enter them in futurity shows and competitions in order to help you reach your goals as a breeder in the ESBP. Bin horses and pasture ponies won’t get you any awards!
Do I need to compete with my homebreds?
It’s recommended that you start entering competitions right away, or you can collab with others to show your horses for you! Your goal at Level 5 is to have 10 wins under your belt as a requirement to advance to the next level.
How can I earn revenue?
Revenue for the ESBP must come directly from breeding and selling horses. You’re welcome to roleplay this as deeply as you’d like! Get nitty gritty with covering costs and shipments, if you want to! However, winnings from competitions or other revenue sources don’t count toward your breeding program revenue.
Will existing offspring be eligible for registration under the foundation horse through the license?
Yes! You can incorporate previous offspring into your breeding program. However, Skill Points and Breeder Points cannot be earned retroactively. For fairness, all horses must start at the ground level in the ESBP.
If we breed more than one breed, will each of them need a separate license or can only one breed be registered per member?
We’re going to look into multiple license gameplay further down the road. As it stands currently, you can enroll multiple breeding programs into the ESBP. However, there’s no crossover between them when it comes to progress and they should operate independently.
Will entering horses in competitions hosted outside of ES be counted?
Yes! All outside shows are considered “local” level events, which yield 50BP. And, just like our shows, they yield 2 Skill Points (once per show).
