Welcome to Maple Wood Equine Shenanigans! I will start by introducing our horses along with past pictures of them from the old forum!
First we have Simba! Simba is our primary stud here at MWE and is one of our best competition horses. Simba is a bit of an oddball, he rarely shows any characteristics of a stallion even around mares. He gets along well with our other stallion and behaves wonderfully when being handled. Sim has been with our owner Willow Hall since she was 15. We know this wonderful boy like the back of our hand and can always rely on him to bring a good reputation to our stable. His favorite thing to do undersaddle is hillwork and he loves rolling in the grass when the dew is fresh.

Meet Crow
Crow is a favorite here at MWE. Crow is a young Australian Thoroughbred with bloodlines that range from the track to the show jumping ring. He has a firecracker personality and really enjoys the game "how far can I throw my rider". He isn't an aggressive horse at all, he is just really playful. When he decides to cooperate, Crow is competing in Show Jumping and does enjoy the occasional cross country school. Willow plans to take him to the Grand Prix level when he is ready. Crow is a bit of a loner in the pasture and his favorite thing to do is to run around the pasture as fast as he can. His favorite thing to do under-saddle is gymnastics, he always throws a playful buck after each go. (Crow has an irrational fear of orange objects (that is the reason for picture 4))

Meet Blue
Blue has only been here at MWE for about 8 months but he is definitely part of the family! Blue is a lesson horse in training (he's still pretty young) and is currently a project for our working student Daphne. He has shown a few times and was very good! Blue is a very friendly horse but is a bit shy around other horses. He doesn't like to be alone but isn't very playful. Blue really enjoys trail-rides and being fed carrots.

Meet Aphrodite
Aphro has been at MWE since the very beginning. She is a super talented mare and took Willow to her first Grand Prix. Now she is getting back in shape after having her third foal. Aphro's first foal or should I say foals were a special case. Aphrodite had two little fillies, twins, and with help from our vet both are now 4 years old and coming along great. Aphro can be a bit ornery sometimes and has your typical mare attitude. Aphro's favorite thing to do when being ridden is to not be ridden. She enjoys grooming her grown babies in the field.

Meet Potion
Potion is a feisty young mare with quite the attitude. Sje is one of the twins and definitely knows she is special. Around the barn we like to call her the “Dragon” because if she doesn’t agree with what you want her to do then she will let you know. On ground she can be a little pushy but thats just because she is young. She is currently jumping small 2ft courses and will hopefully stay there for awhile (learning manners) before moving up. She came with the barn to the last show to school on the flat. Potion is very playful in the pasture and loves to pick on her sister. When being ridden, she looooves to jump and will quite literally drag you to the nearest fence.
