ABOUT OUR RANCH
Iron River Ranch is an internationally recognized leader in the training and breeding of performance stock horses that not only enjoy their day-to-day tasks of working the cattle and sheep on our ranch, but that also participate and excel in various western styled disciplins such as western pleasure, reining and cutting. Our primary focus is on the training and breeding of the American Quarter Horse and American Paint Horse and our hope is to better both breeds by extensive study of bloodlines. Because we are a vastly growing empire and one of the largest equine, sheep and cattle operations located in northern Wyoming, we not only provide top quality horses for sale, but also natural and in-hand breeding options as well as teasing services.
We are home to some of the leading American Quarter Horse and American Paint Horse stallions within the Sims horse community! All have been gene tested and are proven to produce top quality offspring, depending on the genetics and the bloodline of the mare! At this time none of our stallions carry the grey gene, therefore, there is only a chance of the foal greying out if the mare is homozygeous grey. Most, if not all, of our studs are proven color producers! If you have questions about the genetics aspect of breeding with any of our studs, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Here at The Iron River we are passionate about the care and training that all horses receive, be they owned by us or just here to work with our staff and train with our world class trainer, Garrett Slater. We know that each horse is unique and we strive to train them based on their individual needs because we know that some horses learn quicker than others. We also aspire to train safe, responsive, and quiet horses that are not only easy, but also enjoyable to ride, no matter the experience of the rider. Garrett and the rest of our staff have spent countless hours in the saddle to better themselves and to be able to give and meet the needs of each horse.
