Today me and Max went for a drive in the snow. Little Goofy has settled in very well and Mort was, as always, a fantastic pace keeper. Max handled Morty incredibly well and it got me thinking that it might just be time for her to properly get her amateur license and do some racing.

When I first met Max, she didn't know too much about harness racing. I still remember the first time I put her in a sulky, gave her the reins and sent her around the tracks. She still claims that her tears were from the wind and dust kicking into her eyes but I know pure joy and adrenaline when I see it. Max was born for speed. She proposed to me after our first co-owned horse, Majblom, sprinted her way to victory for the first time.

I suppose all relationships have their ups and downs, but the true test is running a business together. We had a bit of a fight today, about money (as always) and it clears my head a bit to write here and remember why we do this. I love our horses and I love our business, but damn if I don't love her most of all. I think I might have to go apologize. We both said some things in the heat of the moment, but right now I just really want to hold her close.
