Hello and Welcome to Twin Oak's Equestrian Center!
Twin Oaks is a small facility run and owned by Addie Watson and her best friend Cyber Wolf, inherited from Addie's late uncle in late 2017. Re-established and re-opened in July of 2018, the road will be long as Addie and Cy work their way to a 5 star establishment.
About us: Twin Oak's is owned by Addie Watson, and Cyber Wolf. Here at Twin Oak's we specialize in Eventing Thoroughbred horses, but are happy to house whatever horse comes our way. Currently there are four members working at the stables including Addie and Cyber, and we have four horses to our name. Our facilities include 4 barns with a max capacity of 28 horses total, a spacious outdoor arena, and a covered, fenced in arena for wet weather. We have access to plenty of trail heads, as well as a cross country schooling course within riding distance from the main stables, though you can trailer out if you so choose. Addie and Cyber live on site and do morning and evening checks on the horses before the other staff arrive in the mornings.

This is still a heavy WIP, this is just a guideline for myself. I am also going to try to be more active on here, I've missed the community since I left EC for personal reasons. Im excited to be trying to make a comeback! This first post will probably always be a WIP.Also on a side note Im not going to be too concerned as to what breeds have what acceptable coats, Im just enjoying making pretty pixel ponies and sharing them with you!

A view of the Facilities!
While taking these pictures this cute little guy decided to visit me! Don't worry though, I made sure he was safely moved out of the arena.

Show Time!(kinda long)
The alarm blared loudly next to Addie's head. She let out a tired groan before attacking the clock with a groggy smack to silence the device. She rolled out of bed quietly with a stretch and a yawn before making her way down the stairs to the kitchen. Throwing a quick pot of coffee in she pulled two mugs from the cabinet and set them on the table, two plates following in their place. A second alarm rang from upstairs and she could hear the sound of feet and the closing of the bathroom door. She smiled to herself as she pulled some instant breakfast burritos and setting them on the plates. A few moments later her silver haired housemate walked into the kitchen rubbing a tired hand over his reddish brown eyes. "I hate show days." He grumbled as he sat at the table. A cup of coffee was placed by his hand and he looked down at it, pondering how it came to fruition before him.
"We aren't getting up too much earlier than normal, you sir, just need to go to bed sooner." Addie said as she pulled the now fully cooked burritos from the microwave, which beeped at her with an incessant rhythm. She set one in front of her housemate and sat across from him. "And I told you you didn't need to get up so early. you're not riding today, you could have met me there later Cy." She said, stuffing the still scolding item of food into her mouth only to regret it when the steaming contents burned the roof of her mouth. She sipped her coffee which was only slightly cooler. Her friend simply shrugged and proceed to dig into the breakfast so generously offered to him. The two dug in before making the five minute walk to the stud barn to retrieve Jay. The stud was already awake and he softly nickered at the two as they approached the stall. Today was his first real show, and if he did as well as he did at training, today should go Amazingly.
It was hot. Like, Hot, in at least the high 70s, maybe even in the 80s. Addie was wearing her warm up clothes, a poor decision of a black top and her favorite galaxy riding breeches. She fanned herself with her hand in the shade of the sign-in tent. "Why does it have to be hot? Why cant it be nice out? Just today?" She complained quietly to herself.
"Because its the end of summer." Her silver haired friend retorted as he looked at the Dressage and Show jumping courses. "You think Jay will do well?" He asked as the line moved up.
"Jay? Hes gonna do great. Hes done so well with training. And its really quiet today because of the heat. He might just take it as another training session." She said as she looked back toward the small tented structure that served as the temporary stable. She hoped the young stud would do well. He had a great start on the race track, so getting him to listen and shorten his strides was still hard, but he was making nicce progress. And they had him working with the best trainer in the area too. They walked up to the table and Addie smiled politely. "Addie Watson, riding Twin's To Catch a Mockingjay." She said when the person liked up at her. They flipped through the pages for a moment before smiling and handing them a number. She took the number and the two made their way back to the stall Jay was dozing in. "Sorry buddy, time for warm ups."
The horse looked up at her, as if asking her if she was serious. Cyber chuckled beside her, leaning against the door. "He's going to give you a hard time."
"He will do no such thing." She stepped into the stall, halter in hand. "C'mon Jay. The faster you we get this over with, the better." The horse lifted his head stubbornly. It was going to be one of those days today.
"Dude, quit being a butt." Addie said as she asked the young stallion to canter. He dropped his head and picked up the lead seemingly begrudgingly as they did. "I know is hot. But, if you behave, when we get home Ill give you a peppermint." She tried to bribe the horse, knowing that he didn't understand. but hoping that he would still behave. They continued in the warm up pen for a little longer. They didn't have to go on until around 3 PM, it was only noon. This warm up was just to get the horse into the right state of mind and stretched out from the hour and a half long drive. His nice show saddle pad and wraps were tucked safely in the trailer, as well as Addie's nice green show shirt, vest, and breaches. Her shirt matched the green show pad and boots, though now the horse wore matching dark blue. With this horse though, Addie was happy to bring the extras for warm ups. Because the moment she got off the horse he decided to use the restroom and because it was him, he had to accidentally ruin the nice blue wraps.
"Told you He's going to give you a hard time." Addie's silver haired companion said as he held onto the horse's halter.
"No one asked you." She hissed at him, pulling the wraps from the horses legs and tossing them to the side to be washed later. She stood up, looking at the horse. "Come on Jay. Those were expensive, did you have to do that?" She asked. The horse snorted at her in response. "It's Supposed to be a good day dude. Get with the program." She said, patting the animals neck before returning him to his stall. "Well, Im getting lunch. Then Im going to relax for a little. You can wander around, Ill find you before we go out on course." Addie said after making sure the stall was tightly shut. The two went their separate ways and like she said, the first thing Addie hunted down was a food truck selling tacos and salads. Digging into a nice, refreshing bowl of rabbit food had never seemed so nice as she scrounged down the salad before her. She counted the time boredly as she walked around, talking to other riders and smiling at a large group of young girls fawning over a warmblood mare and foal.
Soon enough, the two did their dressage test and then they moved onto Jay's favorite part. Cross Country.
It was a fairly smooth run, the majority of it taking place just off the coast. The young horse had a way of locking onto whatever jumps he was running to, pinning his ears forward as they approached it, and jumping it like the floor was lava. Ok, maybe he did need some work still in the whole jumping department, but at least he would do it. The two settled into a nice rhythm, not too fast, but not too slow. Addie didn't need to ask the horse for much either, sometimes needing to click him over a jump or two, and almost flying off the horse when he decided to jump into the water sideways, when there was no jump to begin with. The decorations of plastic lawn flamingos, and other beachy items made her miss her hometown of Tampa FL, but she couldn't let that get to her now. She could always visit later. Now was show time. Now was winning time.
"C'mon Jay, you got this." She said as the two approached a crossed log style jump bordered by a wooden beach fence. The horse jumped it slightly to the left and Addie heard a loud 'Clack!' sound. Concerned, she looked over her shoulder on landing to see the poor plastic flamingo had lost his head when Jay attacked it with his hoof. She turned her attention back to the path in front of her, knowing the poor flamingo hadn't stood a chance and that she would most likely be replacing it out of her own pocket. Though to be fair, they shouldn't have put it so close to the fence. Did they not see this coming? With the poor beheaded flamingo behind them, they made their way for the finish line.
Thank you for reading! I know its a bit long, but I'm working on my writing skills and what better way than to write about how the show went? I hope you enjoyed!

Trail Ride & Rescues
Please excuse the very bad reins/stirrup leathers GIMP wasn't being nice so I did what I could To enjoy the last few days of nice weather before fall takes hold and the rain comes everyone here at Twin Oaks decided to go on a nice, relaxing trail ride. We also have some visiting rescues since we partnered with a local hooved animal rescue.
Meet Milton and Mila, or the M&M Pair as we have started calling them. Milton is an 8 year old shire gelding, and Mila is a 7 year old Donkey mare. The two came to us as a pair and will need to be placed together when they are ready to be adopted. For more information on these two visit our adoptions page Here. That's all for today! We hope to see you again soon.

Day NikkiThank you both for the kind words!
Bonding "Hey there Mila, How are you girl?" Addie asked as the donkey walked over and sniffed her pocket. "Sorry darling, no peppermints today." She said as she let go of Milton's halter. The gelding had grown more used to Addie, but was still shy. Today Addie was doing some more work with Milton to gain his trust, and to help him get used to people. Taking on the rescues had been a challenge, but one that Addie had decided was well worth it. Milton had made tremendous progress in the time he had been at Twin Oak's, and made even more progress day after day. Addie walked around with the two in the outdoor arena, talking to them and petting Milton whenever he would let her. Admittedly, Addie had grown very attached to the two and as much as she wanted them to find an amazing home, she wanted more than anything to keep them. But she knew she couldn't, and that the pair would make someone else so very happy, so she did her part in helping the two to that loving, and hopefully, forever home.

Enter Fall + Sneak Peek
The change in seasons is upon us here at Twin Oaks. As well as a new face, who will make an official appearance soon. The little black speck in the ocean photo (4th picture) is supposed to be a killer whale, my second favorite animal. It just looks like a speck in the picture though. You can see it better in the full sized photo.
