The term "event" is used interchangeably for both competitions and clinics. The ESRPG recognizes all of the events hosted here on our forum, but ESRPG events are always labeled with #ESRPG.
Event Tiers
Event “tiers” help organize shows so that they’re more manageable by grouping characters and horses together who are of similar experience (based on their XP level). Your character and/or horse has to qualify for the event's tier in order to participate.
Multi-Tier Events
Your event may encompass multiple tiers at once. For example, if you qualify for hosting a national ESRPG event, your event may also be open to state, regional, and local tiers. Participants who enter a national show may only collect XP for their CURRENT tier. So, if my horse is at the regional level, which is offered at your show, I can still only collect 200XP even if your show is ranked as national.
Who Can Host Competitions?
Anyone! If you play in the ESRPG and want to host shows, simply use our Event Tracker below to keep up with the number of shows you've hosted. It will also help you determine at which tier you can host your shows. Remember, if you have an ESRPG Competition Stable, it can earn XP for sponsoring your show!

Who Can Host Clinics?
Clinics and riding lessons can only be hosted by Educators enrolled with the ESRPG. You can also use the Event Tracker above to keep up with the number of clinics or riding lessons you've hosted.
Competition Host Progression
Players no longer host shows based on XP (due to confusion). Instead, players who want to host competitions will need to host a certain amount of shows at each level before they can progress up to the top tier.
Official Show Season for Competitions
With the beginning of 2018, we've decided to make some add-ons to your show experience here on Equus-Sims. We are introducing an official "Show Season!" During the course of the season, we will be offering shows every month starting at the Local tier and ending at the International (Olympic) tier. You can read all about it in the guide below!
Non-#ESRPG Events
Competitions or clinics that are not tagged #ESRPG and/or are not affiliated with the ESRPG yield 200XP (once per event) by default. No more, no less.
Fields and Disciplines
In real life, we recognize two main riding fields: English and Western, and almost all disciplines, common and obscure, fall under them. For the ESRPG, however, to ensure that horses only develop disciplines that go together and in the spirit of fairness, we've organized our own Fields and Disciplines system that we will ask event hosts to use.

XP and Rewards
Regardless of the context of your entry (a fail, an accident, a perfect jump, an instructor talking to a student, a vet treating a scratch), your entry will earn XP for your characters, horses, and establishments. The amount of XP is dependent upon the event tier. The more experience an ESPRG player has in hosting shows, the more XP they can award to their participants.
XP Breakdown for Events
Whether you're hosting or entering an event, below is the amount of XP rewarded to both hosts and participants.
Winning, Placements, and Judging
XP isn’t related to winning or placing in a show. Everyone gathers XP regardless of what place they come in. However, winning and/or placing can earn you CC and other rewards from the show host. Judging is open and can be done in any fashion the host prefers, from voting to grading each entry.

[attr="class","note"]NOTE: That said, the ESRPG is all about imagination and having fun, so don't rule out Fun Shows! Fun shows are any shows that are competitive but not based on real-life disciplines. They're usually centered around a sport, game, or activity that might fit within a certain theme (medieval, western, etc).
