Viking hello, hello! It's wonderful to be here, and I've already had people talking to me about the SCA, what it does and what it's like. Well! It got me thinking about a grand 'ol clever idea from my noggin, all nestled in my helm. What if I host series of clinics for the SCA? It'd go all over the steps, from beginning to advanced portions of the SCA, and it would offer in the future a chance for people who are interested in becoming your Kingdom's MIT or KEO (MIT = Marshall In Training, KEO = Kingdom's Equestrian Officer.)
I have the real life, official handbook for the real SCA, and I have asked for permission to share with you all, so we'll see if they'll grant that or not before I show everyone it. I'd begin to host clinics that begin as follows, and will possibly be able to give out actual PDF files, or other goodies from the clinics.
Clinic List (Might be edited later)
1. Intro to the SCA and Demos
2. Creating your own crest/barding and using them
3. Tack/equipment usage and barding
4. Training the horse for the SCA
a. Mounted Archery b. Mounted Combat c. Jousting d. Challenges e. Kingdom Demos/War games
5. Training the rider for the SCA
a. Mounted Archery
b. Mounted Combat
c. Jousting
d. Challenges
e. Kingdom Demos/War games
6. Authorizing of Horse and Rider
7. Rehearsals
a. Mounted Archery
b. Mounted Combat
c. Jousting
d. Challenges
e. Kingdom Demos/War games
Now, all that is all said and written, who wants to have a clinic?
With Love,

It's a wonderful idea! Though, it would be hard to find poses, tack and clothes ;P

This would be super fun! If CC is an issue, I would recommend linking people to what they could use for their entries into the clinics. As clinics are meant to be fun and educational, I can't imagine they'd be too strict. I know there's some pretty cool mounted archery stuff we could use..I have a character who would be down for learning that!

Precious visitor; Serena Hillinky - It's not that difficult to find the stuffs! I'll be happy to help! I'd love to spread my joy and ambition for the SCA here. If poses are a problem, I can ask someone to help me make some. My bestie, Annie S. is hella talented at that. -whispers- allbowtotheposequeenya'll -stops whispering- If you need help or want advice, have questions in general, I'm more than happy to help! I've already found quite a bit of medieval tack on the ES CC database with the help from Annie, and some barding. The only issue I have is that the armor may not be to accuracy of a person's chosen period of time or culture. As a member or participant of the SCA, you choose where and when you want to be from. I chose the late 10th century Norse because they're one of the only ones at the time whom allowed women to be Vikings and fight alongside the men. Beloved Wise-woman; Christina - Of course I'll link all the goodies. ♥ How can we have fun if we don't have the tools? So, this makes two people who are interested? Right?

I'd definitely be down for this. The new stable that I'm working on (Equestrian Academy of Burgundy) has mounted archery and shows and reenactments and stuff as some of it's main disciplines so I'll be doing a lot with it in the future.
