With the beginning of 2018, we've decided to make some add-ons to your show experience, here on Equus-Sims. We are introducing a Show Season! During the course of the season, we will be offering shows every month starting at the Local tier and ending at the International (Olympic) tier.
Running Dates
This year, because we started a little late due to RL events and the remodeling of the forum, the show season will run from the beginning of March to the end of December. Next year, if we deem this new category of shows successful, it will run from the beginning of January to the end of December.
Who is Hosting?
The ESRPG team (@christinahanson and josephine_Westerling ) will be hosting the shows within the ES Show Season with the help of a couple other members (by invitation only). The reason the hosting of those shows is not open to everyone like the regular shows (ESRPG or other) is to ensure the shows will be scheduled and run on time and judged consistently (most likely by votes).
Other shows (ESRPG or not) are welcome to be ran by anyone at the same time as the Official Season shows, in the same way they are ran now.
What is ESEF?
ESEF, or Equus-Sims Equestrian Federation, is the 'governing body' of the show series, and...well, a cool, fancy, and official official title for the entity that houses all of these shows together under one roof.
Who Can Enter?
Anyone registered with the ESRPG (registration is simple and immediate - no validation period) can enter the Local Tiers of the Season. No points required at the start of the Season.
Regional Tier and above will require an entry in the previous Tier (subject to exceptions - find out more on how further down this post.)
Show Organization
Every show in the ES Show Season will have the same organization and will be run in the same way to avoid confusion and to simply be as user friendly as possible. We want those shows to be as realistic as possible while maintaining the same freedom we have been accustomed to on Equus-Sims. For this reason, we are breaking down each show as follows:
Tiers
Shows hosted in the Official Season will have a Tier defined from the start regardless of the host. There will not be Lower Tiers hosted at the same time as Higher Tiers (ie. a State Show will only host the State Tier. It will not offer Local or Regional Tiers at the same time). In the same vein, horses and characters will NOT need to be at the level of the Tier in their ESRPG career to enter a Higher Tier. More on how and who can enter further down this post.

Classes
Each Circuit will offer two classes:
Sub-Classes
Within each Class, multiple Sub Classes dependent on Discipline (Discipline Shows) or Age Group (Breed Shows) will be offered.
In the event that there are too few entries in a Sub Class (8 entrants or fewer) it is likely to be merged with another Sub Class (within the Class it belongs to).
In the same vein, if there are a lot of entries in a Sub Class (16 entrants or more) it is likely to be split into two Sub Classes (ie: Show Jumping 01 and Show Jumping 02).
The Sub Classes offered will be dependent on the Show Tier and previous interest.
Season Points and Entry Guide
I. Prizes
ESRPG points in accordance to the tier entered:
- 100 for Local
- 200 for Regional
- 300 for State
- 400 for National
- 500 for International
II. Prizes as listed by the host:
- Graphics (ribbons/medals)
- Ribbons (in game CC)
- Plates (in game CC)
- Trophies (in game CC)
- Other (poses, other in game CC, etc...)
III. Qualifying Points:
However, these are not the only prizes which will come out of the Official Season shows. We would like to introduce the idea of show season points (aka Qualifying Points). These points will serve as qualifiers for each leg of the season. Entrants will be able to earn them by entering, but also through placing. Trying to earn as many Qualifying Points as possible will allow entrants to skip shows in the event that they have earned enough points to enter a future leg.
For example, Mary and her horse Macadam have placed first in the Local show and they have earned 200 QP. The State Show requires 200 QP. They thus already qualify and may skip the Regional show if they so wish.
Points will accumulate with each new show you enter.
Entering Shows
As mentioned previously, your horses and characters do not need to be at the same tier level as the show they are planning to enter. They only need enough Qualifying Points. We want everyone to be able to skip one show regardless of placing. In this case, everyone may skip either one of the local shows or the regional shows. Entries which place may allow horses and characters to skip one or more extra shows.
Moving Forward or What Happens After
At the end of the season, a new season (assuming this first season is a success) will start and all horses will start back at the beginning with 0 QP. However, Qualifying Points earned in the previous season may qualify you for two things, which is why you may want to earn as many as you can:
=> If you have earned 2000 QP or more in the previous Show Season, you will receive an automatic invitation to the next International show of the new Season, regardless of participation to that Season's other shows.
=> If you have earned 1500 QP or more in the previous Show Season, you will receive an automatic invitation to the Champion Tour hosted by Paige Price and Annie Stokes from January to July which will consist of a string of International shows set at different locations around the world.

Classes
Each Circuit will offer two classes:
- An Edited Class, in which all editing is permitted
- An Unedited Class, in which only minimum editing (reins, hole patching, blur) is permitted.
In the spirit of fairness, those classes will never be merged together, regardless of the number of entries.
