She'd arrived early that morning, a dark form hidden in the autumn fog. He'd been busy working with one of the younger riders, and hadn't been able to stop and meet her.
Now, in the lazy afternoon sun, he bridled Traveller and the two plodded up the hill to the training barn. It had been one of those days; a suspected colic that was
thankfully, a false alarm. Riders arguing over misplaced tack, turning friends into foes. Unextraordinary mayhem.
She was in the first stall to the right, standing at the door, ears pricked and looking out at the world.
Damn.
She looked just like her dam. He'd been given the mare, Cricket, on a competition lease years ago. She'd been a mid-level eventer, he'd been an amatuer looking for a break.
With increasing success, they'd gone to their first CCI events together.
But of course, nothing stays the same. After a handful of placings, it was decided that Cricket would be returned to Whitebrook Equestrian Center, but before that,
they would breed her once to a stallion, with the foal to be kept at Broadbry and owned by him.
Of course it wasn't the same thing. Dean knew this.
But she was pretty darn close.
Fixed it! Bet you didn't even see it in it's incomplete state. I also added another photo, now that I have a bit of time. It still counts as a post I made yesterday, today, with additions  |

But there's so much detail above I've no idea what you're on about  as for the event; nothing exciting! I had to go to the going away party of a colleague going on long service leave - yesterday's update was posted frantically from the bathroom of said party  |

second off: i’ve really really really enjoyed everything youve posted for your little challenge so far; the atmosphere of your blog always has me jealous. but school decided to be a butt, so here i am now at a ripe old 2:30 am, catching up on everything 💪
i love the way you designed the mist post—the unique spacing, different sizes, and the phrase “occupancy one” are just. perfect. and the way you wrote your imagery in the following post is *quite* nice.
and then my favorite so far, dino! the shade of his coat goes beautifully with the purple flowers of the arena and the misty blues. dean’s quote was also a nice touch; it makes my heart melt even more for him 💖 springtail also has the CUTEST name, which perfectly matches her coat and star and snip (the best combo, really). i enjoyed reading the little story you paired with that set; the way you described the unnecessary colic drama seemed so real. cant wait to see what else you post this month 💓

Around the World
Small update, just a few shots from around my world. I've been busy renovating it, and figured I'd show a little off. Unfortunately my internet is being atrocious tonight, so I'll have to fight tomorrow to upload the rest and reupload the current at a better resolution.
I've been away; my boyfriend surprised me with a mini holiday to a sleepy little seaside town. Which was lovely! I do apologise for breaking my challenge but - well. I can't tell him about this little online community, that's too weird, so not much I can do. I spent a lot of time sitting on the porch looking out at the ocean and writing. Maybe I'll share it with you. Maybe I won't. Ciao.

Alexa you're terribly sweet I keep meaning to tell you how I love your updates (all those flowers ) too, but I'm not even in school and am only telling you this now,
so I forgive you. Please stop staying up so late. I think school might be important. At least that's what they tried to tell me.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the writing and layouts especially, I'm not a huge whiz with photoshop and I have a terrible stutter
both in and out of the internet, it's hard to get what you mean across sometimes!

Orienne was the baby. Sired by stable sweetheart, Orvil, and the youngest horse on the property, meant a lot of temptation to sneak here "just one" extra
treat as she peeked her speckled head over the door.
A temptation that more often than not, won.
Orienne was, certainly, a Good Girl.
Small update, here's Orienne! Apologies about yesterday, pulled a muscle and took some A+ knockout pain relief. What can you do? I'm more active than I was when I started this challenge, so in a way, I still win  |

Just wow. This is the first time I opened this album (mostly because I've been on hiatus pretty much the whole time this forum has been open but anyways) and I'm in love. When I scrolled through your album, I have to say that I scrolled very fast. Not because the pictures were bad. Not at all. Because they were so good that after one set I just had to see the next one asap. I love the mood, the nature, all that fog and beautiful lightning... and of course the horses are the most adorable. And your world makes me wanna move in. Ahhh. Consider yourself stalked from now on |

oh lord, i wish i were better at commenting here, even if you don't deserve it since you already failed especially since you've been active with lovely pictures and things, but every time i think to leave a comment (several times a day, i assure you), i realize that i have a LOT to say and i have to set aside a time to do it. apparently now is finally the time, so please excuse the word soup 😚
THE ROUNDPEN. HAS ME. SPEECHLESS. i think it was a healthy 6:40 am when i saw it--and oh. my. GOD--it really made my day. it's so gorgeous and i really have no words to describe it (hence an excessive use of italics and caps and the rambling), but the color palette and layout and angles just make me want to scream. (of course, in a good way.) the fog and cloudiness to top it off really makes it 24862x better as well; im always jealous of anyone who can pull off that vibe so nicely, and you really take the cake. the small bunches of lavenders, the tent protecting those nice cupcakes/scones/im-too-blind-to-see-them-things-what-are-they/baked goodies on the table, and the short rustic fence with the flowers in the last pic are just too much for me. you really dont know how obsessed i am with that photoset.
oh, and orienne--i love her! your description of her was so sweet, i cant help but fall in love with her. im lucky to have her half sister 💕
however, as much as i do like your stuff, you lost the challenge long ago

Arena
The arena had gone through a few shapeshifts. But, finally, in late summer, the trees began to show life, the bushes were green and lush, and flowers sprouted through the cobblestones.

Alexa you're so sweet! Even if you torment me constantly I can definitely relate to never having time, I feel that
any free time I have is spent updating. Taking photos, cropping photos ("Editing"), trying to mash them together, having to fix up a post - ugh!
I tend to browse a bit on my phone on breaks, in the morning, when I'm winding down, but trying to type something on this forum on mobile? No thanks.
So don't feel bad at all, because I'm even worse than you I'm glad you like the roundpen so much! I did really fall in love with how
my game looked in that particular shot, admittedly I did save it separately so I can return to it later and keep up the aesthetic.
Orienne, my little freckled darling I'd love to see her half sister! Have you shown her yet?
Cotton Candy
For several days, the rain lashed down on the barn, making work nearly impossible. Horseshoes fought to grip the mud, leaving the ground churned up.
Taking a horse on the short sprint from the main barn to the indoor became a game of roulette; the Scottish Gang became the desired mounts. Unfazed, they waltzed through the rain without a care. And then there were horses like Traveller. The usually plucky, happy go lucky farm plod refused after the third day of nonstop rain. No thank you, I'd just like to stay inside today, thanks guys.
On the final day of rain, he'd been sent to the indoor arena to let off some steam with the safety of knowing his legs wouldn't
skid out from underneath him, pulling a shoe in the process, falling to the ground, and terrifying
the young groom tasked with turning him out.
Not like that had happened, or anything.

Always love popping in and out of the forum and seeing your updates! They have a certain atmosphere that I just can't get enough of! The cotton candy sky is my favorite! I am a huge sucker for sunsets. I love fast forwarding time in game just to look at the sunsets and take some scenic photos.
