Replies Gemma Thank you so much for the kind words Lately I'm much more interested in showing the everyday live instead of only training. There's so much more to the estate then only training the horses.
@kilbornridingcenter Thank you I really wish I had more time to post edited pictures, I really enjoy making them!

Baby blues
With a mare who behaves rather different than usual, the staff of Courland were in for a pleasant surprise. After inspecting Dagoda's weird behaviour during training, Alexis decided to speak with me about this. Something I completely forgot to mention due to a really busy time managing the estate that Dagoda was an expecting mom. Alexis took it easy with Dagoda in training which payed off to her behaviour in the time to come. Finally, after a long time of waiting at the edge of our seats, Dagoda gave birth to a stunning and flashy colt. This little colt, named Sirocco CE, takes after his dam when it comes to his flashy moves and will be a great dressage prospect.
A special thanks to lunasmit for providing us with her stud, SASs Song of Achilles to sire this colt.

Growing up
Before getting to the update, a slight warning! This update is picture heavy!
Courland's baby boy is growing fast. As we aim to have a maximum of 2 horses per rider, we only had one candidate to work with Sirocco CE. Rena Whitson, who also works with our young show jumping mare Arzanna CE, has taken on the challenge to work with this youngster. Rena has spend lots of time with Sirocco already, and established quite a bond between them.
However, it has been high time for Rena to work with Sirocco in a more serious manner. The young stallion has already been broken, it's up to Rena to take on the basics of riding. Preparations still don't go without some struggle as Sirocco still is a rather inexperianced horse.
Rena fortunately has experiance with young horses, with lots of patience (and some treasts) she managed to get Sirocco ready for their first ride.
To not force Sirocco in doing to much, Rena put focus on relaxation in their training. The young stallion needed some time to relax, but gave in after a while and as an experianced rider, Rena decided they reached their goals for the day.

lunasmit thank you very much! Also for giving me the opportunity to use Achilles as a stud for this precious little gem!
Day thank you Day! It's a shame they don't stay small for that long, it seems they grow up incredibly fast!
@kilbornridingcenter thanks Regina! Even as a grown up stallion, we still think he's very handsome still!

He’s become such a handsome boy! His father will sadly retire from competition soon so it’s very lovely to see his offspring around in good homes. Once he’s ready, I’d love to see this baby in the show ring like his parents one day loving the pictures, looking forward to future updates! <3

lunasmit he definitly grew up to be a gorgeous young stallion! It's a shame his dad will soon retire from showing, but we're happy to have one of his offspring and we're sure he'll do great once we start with his showing carreer!

Random update
A kind of OOC update, this time switching to some other happenings. I think some of you may know, I'm also an active member of the Equus Community besides ES. I've not really been in my Courland save file lately to make some pictures of the horses but mainly on my other save for the Equus Community, Iron Crest Equestrian (sounds familiar? I tried to get IRCE starting on here too!). This save usually brings me more joy as I've spent about 5 RL years building Iron Crest and creating it's horses/characters. This doesn't mean Courland will disappear, for sure it wont! But I might update here with different horses from time to time to keep my face around here!
And this is one of those posts. From the day we introduced them to eachother, IRCE Corabella (sire Fredrikelof's Exeter) and IRCE Alverdite (sireIRCE Barbaro) seem to get along very well. It's easy to say these two mares are best friends to each other. Even though they sometimes get in a fight (mares being mares?), we soon see them sharing food between the two of them. Also, yay for editing pictures!

Iron Crest
Another one of these updates, based on my horses over at the Equus Community. The foals from our previous crop are growing up so fast! Like Corabella and Alverdite, Tamarinda (aka Tammy) is making friends! Between the usual time they still spend in the pastures, Alexandra, Bree, Jess and Jill work with them to get them to trust us and build a bond before we start breaking in. For Jess this is more nervewerecking than it is for us, since she started working at Iron Crest Jess made big improvements and has proven she is ready for a next challenge. I decided it was time for her to take on working with one of the youngsters, IRCE Tamarinda (Sire IRCE Indoctro). From the day she knew, and Tammy was weened, Jess has already spent a lot of time with her new companion! When she sees her, Tammy quickly moves to her stall door to greet Jess, which usually ends in a very nice bonding session between the two ladies.

My favourite season has arrived once again! Leaves are changing colour and daytime is growing shorter. We've had some very resteless weather recently, we're slowly moving towards training in the covered arena. However, we're having some nice days every now and then, when these happen we tend to make great use of them for taking the horses outside!
Jamilla is enjoying herself getting to know all the horses around. Today she took over one of Micha's horses, IRCE Schneestern. As we had one of those nice days today, Jamilla decided to take the mare out for a nice ride in the autumn sun.

The nights are cold, the nights are long, the nights are stormy.
While the winds were gushing, the sky turned dark and the raindrops started falling, they hurried to take the horses inside. A storm was coming. What seemed to be a beautiful autumn day changed quickly to a dreary evening, and a dreary night. It was indeed “All Hallows’ Eve”.
Just in time, they got the horses inside. Save and sound. The wind’s power grew, howling sounds could be heard through the gutters, the rain came rushing down and thunder could be heard in the distance. Stable hands discussed how to best calm the horses and keep them secured, “They seem to have a rough night ahead. Best to secure the stable”. Securing the stalls, they took off in a hurry. Into the dark and stormy weather. After all, they had their wives and children waiting at home.
The horses were rather calm, all but one. Walking circles in her stall, but no one to comfort her. The winds howled, rain clattered down, and the thunder grew louder. Outside, the trees were moving heavily, creaking like they could reach their breaking point any time soon. A bang, the door flung open and a heavy rush of wind entered the building. She got scared and started panicking in her stall.
She started kicking and rearing towards the stall door. Frantically trying to open it, escape the enclosed space. The door gave away and flung open, she rushed out. Moving into the wheat fields, free as a bird, running like the wind. Not because of the freedom, she was scared, panicked and fleeing. In heavy rain, thunderstorms and howling winds.
What came over that specific mare, no one knows. The stable hands found her the next day, in the wheat fields. Soaked and scared, trusting no one. I don’t know if it was me or if she had sensed my presence. I’m after all just the whisper in the winds.
