Romantic Getaway
Kayla walked in the front door on a Thursday evening after finishing up her paper work in the barn office. She headed upstairs to take a shower and get out of her riding clothes. As Kayla entered the bedroom Travis was there packing a suitcase.
"You going somewhere babe?"
"No, we are going somewhere!" Travis said with a huge smile on his face.
A confused look came across Kayla's face.
"Uhm we are?"Travis held up two tickets,
"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE! we leave in the morning." He put his hand over Kayla's mouth,
"I know what your thinking, so don't worry cause I've taken care of everything. James is gonna look after everything, and your sister is gonna help out as well.""What about..." Kayla started to say.
Travis looked at her
"Nope, not a word! Start packing babe."The alarm went off, Kayla turned over to shut it off.
"Time to get up hun, it's 4:00 (am) and it's a 2 hour drive to the airport. We gotta get going so we make our flight on time."After waiting in the airport for what seemed like forever, it was finally time to board their flight. It was going to be a long flight with a few stop overs, and they wouldn't arrive at their destination until early Sunday morning.
Kayla was looking out the window as the captain came over the loud speaker after landing.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Male Airport. Local time is 7:00 AM and the temperature is a beautiful 31° Celcius. Have a nice stay on the Maldives Islands!"After taking a seaplane to a platform close to the resort, we had to get on a boat to get to the small island resort.
"OMG Travis, it's so beautiful."After checking in and finding their cabin, Kayla sat down on the bed which felt so soft and comfortable.
"Gonna take a short nap, wake me in a couple of hours." A few hours later Kayla and Travis grabbed a bite to eat and decided to do some exploring.
Travis headed down to the water where there were boats to take them water skiing.
"Hey babe, let's go water skiing!"
"I don't know Travis, it's been awhile since we've gone water skiing." Kayla replied as she shrugged her shoulders.
"Aw what the hell, let's do it!""OMG Travis, I've forgotten how much fun that was." Travis and Kayla continued boating around the island, stopping every so often to get back on the water skis.
After spending most of the afternoon on the water it was time to head back to shore for some dinner. Kayla was so tired from being out in the sun all afternoon, and still suffering a little from jet lag that Tyler had to carry her up the few steps to the cabin.
That night, Kayla and Travis sat outside. Kayla listening as Travis played the guitar and tried to sing.
Before heading off to bed Kayla decided to send a postcard to the kids.
The next morning they headed to the beach to watch the sun come up. The guy who has the surf boards was already there on the beach.
"Let's get the boards now and watch the sun come up on the water." Kayla said as she grabbed Travis's hand and dragged him over to the boards.
Watching the sun come up.
Paddling out to catch the wave.
Still not good enough to catch the big waves, this size is big enough.
At the end of the day we caught a boat to the smaller island close by to enjoy a romantic picnic watching the most amazing sunset.
Happy Anniversary baby, love you!" Travis said as he leaned over and gave Kayla a kiss.
"I think I ate too much, that breakfast was delicious. We need to go for a walk after that." Kayla and Travis walked along one of the many paths on the tiny island. Enjoying the flowers and birds along the way.
"You ready for some scuba diving? I've been looking forward to this all morning. Hurry up babe, let's go." Kayla said as she rushed out of the cabin and headed to the dock.
First to go down was Travis, followed shortly after by Kayla.
"What time is the party and bonfire on the beach at babe?""I'm not sure Travis, I'll check on the sheet they gave us of things going on here."It was their last day at the resort, well actually morning as they had to go to the main island in the afternoon and stay the night there to catch their flight home.
"Let's go relax by the pool until it's time to pack up and leave for the main island." Kayla put on her suit and headed to the pool.
That night on the main island they both got dressed up and headed to an expensive restaurant for their last dinner on the Maldives Islands.
"Here's to an amazing women and a wonderful 20 years of marriage. Love you babe."We hope you enjoyed our little break from the stable so we could share our amazing romantic getaway with you.
