-Back to the US(SR)-
Here we go again. As my feets touched the ground when I got down from the plane, I could feel I was getting back home. The temperature was so hot compared to Finland, it was incredible. I had that strange feeling, that I was heading home but it wasn't the home I left. Hopefully, it would be different. The van I rented was waiting me at the end. I greeted Devil's, and he was as grumpy as usual when he travels, but still calm. Courage, buddy, a few hours left and you'll be in a big pasture running like the crazy horse you love to be. The travel was good. I drove on my own to the Academy. When we arrived, we were greeted by the lady whe took care of my registration. She was really nice, but we didn't really take the time to talk because I was really tired. We let Devil's meet his new pasture (for now without any horses) and I went to sleep. Work will start in two days, just enough to get my sleep schedule on his feet after the jet lag and maybe meet the other students here.

ARRIVING AT O'NEIL RIDING ACADEMY
I wanted to know how Chex was doing as soon as my feet touched the ground after arriving at the academy. He'd been flown over from England for the programme and I was told he'd be ready and waiting for me there, the whole journey I'd sat jiggling my leg and worrying about how he'd coped with the flight. The lady sat beside me was less than impressed and asked politely whether I would stop because I was distracting her from her reading. Once I'd walked down the fresh, tidy barn aisle I spotted the familiar bucskin tobiano stood in the corner of the stable. His bed was already made up and he was munching at his haynet looking as chilled as ever - I on the other hand still had the jitters from the flight. He'd softly nickered to me when he heard my voice greeting him and it had made me grin from ear to ear because he forgave me for putting him on the plane after all. Looks like my worrying was pointless... the gelding was absolutely fine. I needed sleep. My eyelids were heavy and I knew I was fighting the tiredness hard like a little kid trying to stay up late watching TV with their parents. There was a 5 hour time zone different and boy was I feeling it. I'm such a travelling light-weight.
I clipped up Chex's headcollar and took him for an inhand walk around the ground to stretch his legs and boy was I taken away with the beautiful landscapes and pretty green trees. Chex was more interested in nibbling at my hands and pockets for mint humbugs because he always has as a treat after doing something good. He must've known I was pleased with him. I walked back, turned Chex back out into his stall and made my way back to reception where I was checked in by a friendly and chatty receptionist. My bags were left behind her desk along with Chex's tack, rugs and anything else he'd need whilst at the academy. A young stable hand helped carry my bags to my room whilst I began to move my horses things. Everything here is so neat and tidy which I appreciate a lot because mess makes me scatty. The other horses here are friendly too, especially his neighbouring horse who gives me a small nicker every time I walk past.
I'm looking forward to our first ride here but for now I'm going to get some sleep.

-The first jump-
It's been almost a mounth since I first got at the academy. Devil' and I had enough time to adapt to the place, the teachers, the other students and horses ... After a few group lessons of basic riding (where Devil's name was really annoying with other horses ... especially mares !) the first jumping session happened. I was nervous : I said in my form that I was quite used to jump, but the truth was I was used to old and kind horses, and not the 4-yo, black devil I was riding ... Anyway, I try to calm down : the work was going very well, and the coach knew about my situation.
We started with a few poles on the ground. No problems, this was a usual exercice for us. Then the coach settled a small obstacle, about 20cm. When it was finally my turn, the tension was palpable.
"Relax ! Everything will be alright !"
I tried to be confident and look waaay behind the obstacle, but Devil suddendly sped up at the aproach. I lost my balance, tried my best to stay on the saddle ... But we made it ! He managed to jump and did his best to stay on the line. I was ... really proud of him but not of myself. I still have to improve.
